Day 13: S#*t happens!

This saying couldn't be more true!!  Especially on this particular morning, we had been planning on taking a hot air balloon ride for our anniversary last year but didn't have time.  I had these certificates that were about to expire so I planned this last minute.  Bad idea!  We had such a wonderful time until we landed and to our surprise they served us food!

I can only blame myself for this since I took so long to get ready I didn't have time to eat before we left at 5 am.  So I decided I would just be hungry till we were finished and then I would get something.  When we landed they started setting up this table with chocolate filled croissants, Baby Bell cheese, something with egg in it and apple slices.  I tried to just eat the apple slices but the hunger I had avoided all morning came out roaring like a lion!  At that point watching everyone else eat was killing me so I gave up and ate the croissant and cheese.  Within minutes my stomach was screaming out in pain and I was sorry I had even attempted to look like everyone else.

Later that day Antonio and I had been working like crazy moving things around and before we knew it we were starving.  So we had some errands to run and then we grabbed some food at Jack in the Box.  I'm usually really good about googling places that I can eat.  But this time we were in such a hurry and it was a last minute decision that I didn't.  After I was done eating I felt sick and needed a nap!

I finally looked online to see what they put in their tacos.  I already knew I was eating corn but then I found out they put wheat in their beef!!  Seriously??  Why would anyone do that and what purpose does it serve??  Maybe the chef in their test kitchens is from the country and said we will add wheat to make it go further.  Well at least that is what my Nannie would say!  The more I read on forums about gluten allergies and accidental ingestion, I'm learning that there will be situations where you are accidentally glutened by a restaurant or friend and then their are situations like my balloon ride that if I would have been more prepared I could have avoided this all together.  Living with allergies is always challenging but you must always be ready for anything!
