For years I have been living on Advil, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, and anything else that I could add the the mix for some relief. Once I was diagnosed with my first food allergies and began avoiding those items my problems I have had for years just vanished! Now I'm not saying that I don't ever get a headache anymore because I do on occasion. But that nagging headache that would make it impossible to do anything is gone! And my psoriasis on my legs gone!!
If a doctor had told me years ago that I had food sensitivities and that avoiding certain things would clear these up I probably would have laughed at them. I mean, I come from a family of dairy farmers and you're asking me not to eat dairy?! It's funny really when you think about it. Most doctors aren't educated in nutrition enough to know that all of these issues I have been suffering from are cause by food sensitivities. It took me going to a naturopathic doctor to have this explained to me. And the reason most people don't see this type of doctor is because insurance doesn't cover the cost of anything including office visits.
When you think about going to the doctor do you ever think about why they prescribe all of these drugs with only listening to a few of your symptoms?? Most symptoms of any disease are all very common to the next one. Have you heard of Shift Work Disorder?? I keep hearing about this on the radio and can't help but laugh, I know people think this is a real disorder but all of those symptoms I deal with when I have ingested an allergen. Have we become so lazy that we think there is a pill for everything? Because the only disease right now that doesn't have a pill is celiac. Do you wonder why that is? The drug industry puts fillers in their pills and this is almost always gluten.
I have been reading a lot lately about how our medical and government keep us sick. You see if your someone with diabetes they tell you to increase your "healthy whole grains" and the same with heart disease. The thing they don't tell you is that when you eat two slices of whole grain bread it can raise your blood sugar more than eating two table spoons of pure sugar. This creates plaque in your arteries and makes your body insulin resistant. Some people think that it is crazy to think this but the USDA says that we can battle this obesity dilemma with increasing our whole grain consumption but this is making us bigger and sicker. We then go to a doctor and are given pills to help ease our symptoms from what we are consuming. And the cycle continues. Do you ever wonder why doctors don't educate you on nutrition? Diabetics that are not celiac's are actually living symptom free and medication free just by avoiding wheat alone. If you think I'm crazy you should read, Wheat Belly by William Davis, MD. His experiences are just amazing!
